Writing honest descriptions that still sell

How to describe products, properties and services clearly — without exaggeration that erodes trust.

1 min read · By the BizLink team

Good descriptions answer the questions a customer would otherwise call you about. Clear facts beat superlatives.

Lead with the facts customers filter on

For furniture that means dimensions, material and finish. For a property, carpet area, BHK, locality and possession. For a service, duration and what is included. Put these in the structured fields so they show up as filters and chips, not buried in a paragraph.

Avoid claims you cannot back up

  • Skip “best in town” and “No. 1” unless you can prove it.
  • Do not promise medical, legal or financial outcomes.
  • Only show reviews or testimonials you collected with permission.
  • If stock or availability changes often, update it or leave it out.
