Taking orders on WhatsApp without the chaos
How to use WhatsApp for orders and enquiries while keeping messages clear, complete and easy to act on.

WhatsApp is where many customers already are, which makes it a natural place to take orders. The trouble is unstructured messages: “1 paneer, 2 roti” with no size, address or name. A little structure up front saves a lot of back-and-forth.
Let customers build the order first
When customers pick items, sizes and quantities on your page before opening WhatsApp, the message they send is complete and consistent. Include a reference ID so you can find the order later.
Prefill context for enquiries
If someone taps WhatsApp from a product or property page, start the message with what they were looking at. You immediately know what they want, and they do not have to explain.
Set expectations
- Show your hours so customers know when to expect a reply.
- Mention delivery areas and minimum order values on your page, not in every chat.
- Use WhatsApp Business quick replies for common answers such as payment options.
Keep your number accurate
Always save your number with the country code. If you have several branches, give each branch its own number so messages reach the people who can act on them.
